By 2029, the Spanish company will produce 150 thousand cars per year
Chery and the Spanish Ebro signed an agreement on cooperation in the field of car assembly in the Barcelona free economic zone: the parties will create a joint venture that will produce cars. Chery will become the first Chinese automaker to launch production of its cars in Europe.
In accordance with the agreement, the company will begin assembling Omoda and other Chery Automobile cars in the third quarter. Annual production will reach 50,000 vehicles by 2027 and increase to 150,000 vehicles in 2029. The new enterprise will create more than 1,200 jobs in the region.
It is interesting that Chery itself has not yet officially announced the conclusion of an agreement with Ebro, but the Chinese Embassy in Spain and the Wuhu Municipal People's Government have already announced this.
