The compact Onyx Boox Kant 2 reader goes on sale in Russia; the device is equipped with a display with an aspect ratio of 2:1, which makes it look like a smartphone. The diagonal of the E Ink Carta 1200 touch display is 6.13 inches, and the resolution — 824×1648 pixels. The built-in MOON Light 2 flicker-free backlight allows you to smoothly adjust the color temperature. The reader screen is covered with Onyx Glass, which protects the display from scratches and damage. 

Onyx Boox Kant 2 is based on a 4-core processor, equipped with 2 GB of RAM and 32 GB of internal memory in combination with a microSD card slot. The reader runs Android 11 OS and allows you to install third-party applications; the RuStore online application store is already preinstalled on it. The software also includes a Bookmate application, an audio player, highly customizable reading applications and dictionaries, and the Text-To-Speech function makes it possible to read the contents of text files.

Onyx Boox Kant 2 supports Wi-Fi (2.4 GHz and 5 GHz) and Bluetooth wireless standards. Thanks to the special hydrophobic coating of the board, the new product has additional protection against splashes, the manufacturer notes. The thickness of the device is 8 mm, and the weight is 160 grams, there is a USB Type-C connector for charging and connecting peripherals and an LED flashlight on the back cover. The reader comes complete with a «smart» cover, which automatically puts it into sleep mode when the cover is closed. The model in a black case will go on sale in Russia on February 21 at a price of 21,990 rubles.
