Publisher D3Publisher has announced a release date for Earth Defense Force 6 outside of Japan on PC and PlayStation consoles.
Earth Defense Force 6 was originally supposed to be released in the spring, but publisher and developer Sandlot delayed the release for improvements.
The news of the release date was revealed along with a new trailer, which, in its playful approach to the plot, is reminiscent of Helldivers 2. The video shows a funny news broadcast where they talk about the battles of the Earth Defense Forces with insectoid invaders.
Earth Defense Force 6 is the sixth main game in the Earth Defense Force series. Players complete missions to destroy alien enemies using a variety of weapons, character classes, and other tools. Essentially, this is a low-budget Helldivers 2 with a broader scope and less overt cynicism.
Earth Defense Force 6 will be released on July 25, 2024 on PC via Steam, PlayStation 5 and PlayStation 4.
