Sony may release the PlayStation 5 Pro this year, but information about the PlayStation 6 is also gradually emerging. For example, it is now reported that Sony wants to make the PS6 the most powerful console of its generation.
The PS6 has been in development for about a year now, but in any case, the console is expected to be released around 2027-2028. It will still be based on the AMD platform, but the final characteristics have not yet been approved, of course. However, Sony already wants the PS6 to be more powerful than all competitors in its generation.
Recall that the current PlayStation 5 is somewhat inferior to the Xbox Series X. And although this does not appear in all games, there are still projects where the Microsoft console demonstrates slightly better graphics quality and/or slightly more stable performance. True, as we know very well, additional TFLOPS did not save Xbox Series X sales. As in previous generations, active discussion of performance took place after the announcement of the consoles and before their release. After the release, everyone forgot about the difference in power.
