And by 2030 – already 100 thousand per year
AvtoVAZ President Maxim Sokolov said in an interview with Russia-24 TV channel that next year the plant plans to supply more than 25 thousand Lada cars to foreign markets. According to him, at the end of this year the volume of exports will decrease and, most likely, will even be slightly lower than last year. But already in 2024, the volume of export supplies will begin to quickly recover, and the number of cars supplied abroad will exceed 25 thousand, according to Sokolov.
As for which markets Russian cars will be supplied to, the head of AvtoVAZ mentioned active negotiations with Iran: both direct deliveries and additional assembly of Lada from car kits right on the spot are being discussed. In addition, a site in Egypt is being considered, both for the production of finished cars from vehicle kits, and as a hub for North Africa for further promotion of the brand on the African continent. Sokolov added that by 2030 AvtoVAZ plans to export about 100 thousand cars per year.
