At AvtoVAZ they said that during the production of the Lada Kalina family, three cars were selected for this experiment: «At that time, the guaranteed estimated life of the engine was 120 thousand kilometers. We took three «Kalina» and decided to roll out 240 thousand on them, that is, a double resource. By the end of the experiment, two cars survived».
After 240 thousand kilometers, we carried out a full diagnosis, with the opening of the engine and body. Diagnostics showed that the cars retained their passport specifications and had not reached the wear limit. According to the test conditions, the cars were stored outside and underwent maintenance according to the regulations.
AvtoVAZ engineers say that the engine life of modern Ladas corresponds to the average for cars of this class in the world. That is, about 200-250 thousand km. Maybe more, but it greatly depends on the owner and operating conditions.
