“Automarketer”: due to rising recycling fees, Chinese automakers may leave Russia

by alex

Only recently in Russia they raised the recycling fee, and now they are talking about a new increase

The founder of the project «Automarketer» Oleg Moseev said that a further increase in the recycling fee could lead to Chinese auto brands starting to leave Russia.

«You can’t change the rules of the game every few months. So no one will work in our country. The very increase in «salvage» will certainly lead to an increase in price, an increase in cost — let's do it this way. Whether this will lead to an increase in price will depend on the market situation. But this could also lead to the departure of a number of automobile brands and models presented on the Russian market», — said Oleg Moseev.

Last year, almost all domestic producers clearly spoke out in favor of increasing recycling collection. They raised it, but the head of AvtoVAZ, Maxim Sokolov, is still dissatisfied: «the Chinese» are able to give discounts on their cars that cover the size of the recycling fee, and this reduces the competitiveness of Lada. The head of the Ministry of Industry and Trade Denis Manturov (who is also the chairman of the board of directors of AvtoVAZ) promised to study the issue of further increasing the recycling collection.
