Dan Houser spent 22 years developing games for Rockstar. This is one of the founders of the studio, which is responsible for the Grand Theft Auto and Red Dead Redemption series. An experienced developer has created a new company.
Lazlow Jones left Rockstar Games at the end of 2020 after 19 years and is revealed to be one of the founders of Absurd Ventures. While the developer hasn't boasted about his friend's involvement in his new project, it looks like he will have the opportunity to work on something new with Dan Houser.
The team also includes Michael Unsworth, writer of the Red Dead Redemption series, who left Rockstar after 16 years of work. The developer worked for the company several months ago, so it's safe to assume that he created part of the plot of GTA 6.
Michael Unsworth is one of the three main writers for Red Dead Redemption and Red Dead Redemption 2 (along with Houser), having written dialogue for GTA 4, GTA 5, Max Payne 3, LA Noire and Midnight Club: Los Angeles, among others.
The Absurd Ventures team has registered two trademarks: “AMERICAN CAPER” and “A BETTER PARADISE”, clearly associated with the studio's first games.
