Nio's most expensive car will be called ET9. The company will unveil it at the Nio Day 2023 event, which will be held on December 23.
Nio ET9 — It's an upscale sedan costing around $140,000, designed to compete with the Mercedes-Benz Maybach S-Class. It will be the first model built on the NT3 platform.
Nio unintentionally revealed the name of its flagship model during preparations for Nio Day 2023. The model was temporarily listed as available on the manufacturer's website.
According to rumors, Nio ET9 will have the latest 7nm SoC, which will be manufactured by Samsung. This SoC will facilitate better integration of the car with Nio phones. The ET9 will have a wheelbase of 3.3 meters and will support third-generation battery swap technology. Most likely, the car will be equipped with a 300 kW engine, introduced in August.
Chinese sources report that the new sedan will be close to the Nio EVE concept car introduced in 2017. However, Nio was previously unable to produce a production version of this car due to a lack of technology. But now the company is ready to shake up the luxury car segment.
The car will hit the market in 2025. According to Nio CEO and co-founder William Lee, this will be the year when the high-end electric vehicle industry will see huge opportunities.
