At this rate, Chinese CPUs will soon overtake Intel Core. Loongson promises that its new 3B6600 and 3B7000 processors will be able to compete with the 12th generation Core

And this is at significantly lower frequencies

Loongson says its next-generation processors will be able to compete with 12th generation Intel Core CPUs.

We are talking about the recently introduced processors 3B6600 and 3B7000, which, despite different names, belong to the same line and are the successors to the 3A6000 line.

The head of Loongson told the Chinese media that the new CPUs will be significantly faster than the current ones. The increase is expected to range from 20-30% to 50%. This should supposedly be enough to compete with the 12th generation Core.

Despite the fact that an increase of 20-50% — this is very, very good, it’s worth remembering that the current 3A6000 with four cores is comparable only to the Core i3-10100F in a number of tests. Whether there will be enough new CPUs to jump straight to the Alder Lake generation is an open question. However, if Loongson can even come close to this result, it will be an incredible achievement.
