Annual indicators dropped
AMD reported for the 2023 financial year and for the last quarter.
The company's quarterly revenue was $6.17 billion, up 10% from the year before. Operating income for the quarter was $342 million, up from a $149 million loss a year ago. Reading profits grew by more than 3000%, to $667 million.
As for the annual results, revenue reached $22.68 billion, down 4% from 2022. Operating income fell 68% to $401 million, and net income fell 35% to $854 million.
AMD separately noted that it occupies 90% of the PC market with artificial intelligence. In this case we mean the corresponding processors. Let us remember that the Ryzen 7040 has a Ryzen AI unit, and such processors have been on sale for almost a year. Intel has a similar hardware unit in Meteor Lake, but they came out only now.
