They operate at lower frequencies

AMD is delivering on its promise and revealing more details about the Zen 4c cores in some of its mobile APUs.

Recall that these cores technically differ from Zen 4 only in size, but also operate at lower frequencies. AMD had not previously indicated frequencies anywhere. Now this information has been revealed.

So, in the Ryzen 5 8500G, the lower cores operate at frequencies of 3.2–3.7 GHz versus 4.1–5 GHz for Zen 4. For the Ryzen 3 8300G we are talking about frequencies 3.2–3.6 GHz.

Thus, the Ryzen 5 8500G should be slightly slower than the Ryzen 5 8600G, which does not have Zen 4c cores, meaning all its cores operate at 4.3–5  GHz. Moreover, the number of cores of these two APUs is identical.
