This video card is equipped with three M.2 NVMe interfaces, each of which is designed for PCIe 4.0 x4. Interestingly, you can run the adapter in just two M.2 slots, leaving an additional M.2 slot on the laptop for installing another SSD.
Perhaps this solution turned out to be cheaper for Lenovo to develop and manufacture, but there is no exact information about why the company implemented the 3D card in this particular way.
