Russians are switching to electric cars: an absolute sales record was set in March

And it significantly exceeded the previous record month on the Russian electric vehicle market

«Autostat» calculated that in March a record number of cars with an electric motor were sold in Russia — 2499 units. For comparison, the previous record was recorded in December 2023, when 1,922 electric vehicles were sold in the country.

In total, 5,889 new electric vehicles were sold in Russia during the first quarter — 3.6 times more than in the first quarter of 2023.

The undisputed market leader is Zeekr: 48.7% of the market (1216 cars) is produced by the Geely division. In second place with a five-fold lag is Volkswagen (269 cars), in third place — Tesla (152 cars). The top 5 also included Avatr (140 cars sold) and Evolute (138 cars).
