The craftsman who made the so-called PS Hanami used components from the first PlayStation, but did not provide cooling

Modder YveltalGriffin made a portable version of the first PlayStation using slightly modified and soldered components from the original Sony console.

The craftsman called his creation PS Hanami and described it as “an old-fashioned laptop with a lot of hot glue”. The device has the following characteristics:

  • Dimensions 181 x 91.5 x 30.25 mm
  • Original PU-18 PS1 motherboard that had to be rebuilt to fit in the case
  • Power supply providing 2.5 hours of battery life
  • Enclosed stereo speakers and amplifier PAM8803
  • Push-on 16GB SD card slot
  • Screen supporting 480p

YveltalGriffin also noted that the device’s buttons are a little wobbly, the image is stuttering, and there is no way to adjust the volume , and due to the lack of a cooling system, Hanami gets very hot.
