It relies on 14th generation mobile Core
Lenovo recently introduced the Legion 7000K desktop gaming PC, which belongs to a class now called Mobile on Desktop (MoDT). That is, it uses mobile processors to create desktop PCs.
Now the new Lenovo product has become available for purchase, and at the same time the prices have been revealed. The company previously hinted that such PCs would be cheaper than similar models with desktop CPUs, and that turned out to be the case.
In particular, the top configuration with a GeForce RTX 4070 Ti Super, 32 GB of RAM and a 1 TB SSD costs 15,000 yuan or about $2,355. In the case of the new Legion 7000K, the buyer will receive a top-end 24-core Core i9-14900HX, which is not much inferior to the desktop Core i9-14900K, and may not be inferior at all if the appropriate power limits are selected. But the same Legion 7000K with a desktop processor will only rely on a Core i7-14700KF, and it will have half as much RAM, and this at exactly the same price.
The lowest configuration offers a Core i7-14650HX, 24 GB of RAM, a 1 TB SSD and a GeForce RTX 4060 for $1,305.
