At the same time the CO is silent
The authors of the WCCF Tech resource have published a review of the latest MSI Spatium M580 Frozr solid-state drive with PCIe 5.0 interface.
This drive is interesting both as one of the fastest on the market and as equipped with a large, but passive cooling system.
If we talk about tests, the SSD performed excellently. It outperformed other PCIe 5.0 models in testing, sometimes quite noticeably. The difference with models with PCIe 4.0, of course, is much higher.
It is more interesting to look at the effectiveness of CO. Let us remember that some modern SSDs are equipped with small fans, which are often quite noisy. Here the system is passive, although you have to pay for it in size.
However, the effectiveness of CO is very high. The SSD did not heat up above 51 degrees under load, while some SSDs with PCIe 5.0, which are completely devoid of their own cooling, heat up over 100 degrees and simply turn off. You can see that the Inland model with a fan is slightly more efficient, but the difference is small.
