The Ministry of Industry and Trade is considering this option

The Ministry of Industry and Trade reported that Mikhail Kuznetsov, head of the Department of Mechanical Engineering for the Fuel and Energy Complex, visited the UEC-Saturn enterprise, within which various issues were discussed, including expansion ;nbsp;possibilities of using aircraft engines for domestic airliners.

We are talking about the PD-14 and PD-8 engines: the first is created for use in the MS-21 aircraft, and the second – for the imported SJ-100. These are the main areas of application of power plants, but not the only ones: the Ministry of Industry and Trade is considering the possibility of using them at ground-based facilities. It is not reported how exactly it is planned to use the PD-14 and PD-8 on the ground, but gas turbine engines are most often used in the oil and gas industry.
