This was stated by the head of the company
CEO David Calhoun said the company must acknowledge its mistake in grounding more than 170 Boeing 737 MAX aircraft in the United States alone.
In his first speech after the incident, David Calhoun noted that in this case it was a manufacturer's error: «We are going to take the first step— admit your mistake»,— he stated.
David Calhoun also added that today it is necessary to eliminate the consequences, and not speculate about what caused the incident on board the Alaska Airlines plane.
After part of the Boeing 737 Max 9 fuselage was torn off in flight, loose bolts were found on several more such aircraft
The window incident occurred on January 5 when an Alaska Airlines flight made an emergency landing in Portland due to the loss of part of the fuselage. Passengers reported that the emergency exit door was torn out of the plane immediately after takeoff, and one of the windows also fell out. There were 180 people on board, including six crew members.
The day after the incident, the US Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) decided to temporarily suspend the operation of some Boeing 737 MAX 9 aircraft; the decision was later supported in other countries.
