You should proceed with caution when purchasing games on Steam. Sometimes scammers try to make extra money from inattentive users

Recently, a group of fake pages for popular games such as Last Epoch, Helldivers 2 and Palworld appeared on Steam. Many immediately suspected something was wrong, since there were very few player reviews on the clone pages, and more advanced users in the SteamDB database could see that the title, screenshots, description and information about the developer-publisher had been replaced quite recently.

Nevertheless, there are users who, for the purpose of experimentation or inadvertence, bought a fake game. For example, one of the affected customers was a gamer under the nickname Kaelrie – he bought a Last Epoch fake and got an unpleasant user experience when trying to launch:

«All , who installed and launched [a similar fake] game, please be aware that it may contain malware. I formatted my computer because I was getting a BSOD [or Blue Screen of Death] shortly after launching a fake game. After the reinstallation, everything returned to normal“.
