The State of Play event took place at night, during which Sony and Square Enix presented information about Final Fantasy VII Rebirth, which will be released on February 29.
After the events of the remake, Cloud and the team leave Midgar to catch up with Sephiroth. There will be old allies and enemies in the game. One of the main tasks will be the search for special matter.
After the heavy atmosphere prevailing in the enemy locations, the player will find himself in noisy villages, where he will engage in additional activities that develop the plots of the main and side characters – some of them are directly related to the first part of the Final Fantasy VII trilogy.
There will also be mini-games, for example, riding a jet ski, racing motorcycles and chocobos, playing football and various actions in the role of an animal (for example, a frog). You can also use electric scooters or birds to make exploration faster.
The game map is divided into several regions (each with a list of activities), differing in plot, atmosphere and tasks. Final Fantasy VII Rebirth will have more open areas than the 2020 remake, but the developers say that they are optional and will help you better understand the intentions of individual characters.
Final Fantasy VII Rebirth takes advantage of the potential of the SSD – loading is very fast. The game will offer two graphics modes – one focused on 4K graphics and 30 FPS, and the other on 60 frames per second with dynamic resolution.
