The Yandex team for the first time disclosed data on sales of smart speakers of the Yandex Station line during the November discount season. As the press service notes, in 2023, from November 6 to November 12, more than 143 thousand smart speakers with “Alice” were sold.
The company said:
This is comparable to the population of a large city: for example, Pyatigorsk or Elektrostal. In 83% of cases, new devices were ordered from online stores or marketplaces.
Compared to the same period last year, sales almost doubled. From November 7 to November 13, 2022, users bought 79 thousand Yandex smart speakers. In the five years since the launch of the very first Station in 2018, about 8 million different devices of this type have been sold.
The head of Alice and Yandex smart devices, Sergey Melnik, noted:
In November, the number of active Yandex Stations exceeded 7 million for the first time. Not only does this indicate an increase in interest in our Alice smart speakers, but it also shows that almost 9 out of 10 Stations ever sold continue to work and remain in demand.
