The developers of Lada Granta Sport decided to talk about the features of the suspension of this sports car and its handling.
The car is assembled in the same workshops as the «combat» cars for the Russian circuit racing series (RSKG) and rallies. Therefore, the car design is approached with the same approach.
For Granta Sport, the tire width was increased by 5%. This is not always visible to the naked eye, but even this value provides a larger contact patch with the road and improves handling, especially with lateral overloads on a dry road. These tires provide more efficient braking.
The tires themselves received a wear resistance index of 320 and belong to the «premium comfort» or «sport-comfort». 320 means a good balance of sporting performance and comfort.
The front and rear shock absorbers have become 20% stiffer, both in terms of resistance during compression and during wheel rebound. This setting of the shock absorbers ensures more stable contact of the wheel with the road.
The suspension springs have become stiffer by 15%, which reduces the car's roll when turning and reduces the delay in the car's reaction to steering movements. Granta Sport changes trajectory faster, without noticeable delay in weight transfer and spring deformation.
