“Pull-push” connected by spars
Citroen has launched an unusual Back to Back model on the UK market. Essentially, this is a commercial Jumper connected by spars… with exactly the same Jumper. There is neither a body nor a second axle here — just two cabins connected to each other. What’s interesting is the engines, gearbox, and controls of each Jumper. It can go both forward and backward, the main thing is to secure the steering wheel of the corresponding half and set the gearshift lever to the neutral position.
Why was such a car needed? It’s simple: Back to Back is intended for third-party companies that create highly specialized cars based on a production model. Such companies, in fact, only need half of Jumper. Well, two cabins were combined into one to save on transportation costs for the delivery of «automotive parts».
Back to Back is equipped with a 2.2-liter diesel engine producing 140 hp. and manual transmission, drive — front. They are asking 36 thousand pounds for Back to Back, that is, the price of one semi-car — 18 thousand pounds.
