The authors of iFixit disassembled a Lenovo laptop to show what the new RAM form factor looks like in real life — LPCAMM2.
As you can see, the LPCAMM2 module really takes up very little space. The connection method is also interesting. The bottom line is that advertising images of the LPCAMM2 module usually showed it only on one side, and it was not clear how it was connected at all. It turns out to be quite unusual.
As you can see, the back side of the module is covered with contacts. In this case, a special connector is installed between the motherboard and the module. This connection itself also additionally saves space in the case, since there is no need to solder the slot. At the same time, it remains possible to easily remove the module if necessary.
