Core M3-8114Y was a very weak CPU
Among the numerous generations of Intel processors, the Cannon Lake line stands out, which existed rather conditionally. Today, photos of a motherboard with one such CPU appeared on the Internet, which even Intel itself does not indicate anywhere on its own website.
The board appears to be from some Lenovo laptop. At one time, it was Lenovo that released a mobile PC based on the Core i3-8121U processor from the Cannon Lake line. It looks like she was releasing something on the Core M3-8114Y — second model in the line. The Core M3-8114Y was never introduced and is not listed on Intel's website. It's like a non-existent processor that the company itself prefers to forget about.
Core M3-8114Y even looks unusual. It consists of three small crystals: a CPU die, a chipset die, and a die that is presumably McIVR — multi-chip integrated voltage regulator. The Core M3-8114Y only has two cores and its iGPU is disabled. It's not entirely clear what this CPU is capable of, but an old leak from 3DMark says it's roughly on par with the Core m3-7Y30.
Returning to the board, you can see an image of the Pokemon Meowth on it, which in itself is quite unusual.
Recall that Cannon Lake was Intel's first 10nm processors. The company could not release them to the market for a long time, and in the end only the Core i3-8121U was officially released. It’s unclear why this CPU was released at all if it didn’t really go on sale, and quite soon after Cannon Lake the normal Ice Lake came out, which became the first full-fledged 10-nanometer Intel processors.
