The legendary intellectual property barely had time to go into the public domain, and the developers have already come to the rescue

In 2024, Disney's copyright on Mickey Mouse (the classic character from Steamboat Willie and Plane Crazy) expires. This means that this intellectual property goes into the public domain – can be used without permission.

Enthusiasts have already begun to present the first creations, in which recognizable images are easily noticeable. IGN's attention was drawn to the trailer for the Infestation 88 project, developed by Nightmare Forge.

Infestation 88 is a new horror game whose goal is to “mix horror with nostalgia.” Players (1 – 4) take on the role of exterminators fighting sinister insects caused by twisted versions of classic characters and urban legends.
