They will be accepted next year
There is still not a single consumer video card with a PCIe 5.0 interface on the market, except for Chinese MTT cards, but the adoption of PCIe 7.0 specifications is just around the corner.
PCI-SIG has announced that PCIe 7.0 specifications are now available in version 0.5. The previous version 0.3 was published almost a year ago. At the same time, the full specifications of the new interface will be adopted next year.
When exactly is unclear, although this is not that important for ordinary users, since we won’t get video cards with PCIe 7.0 for several years.
PCIe 7.0 provides data transfer speeds of up to 128 GT/s or up to 512 GB/s in bidirectional mode in the case of a full x16 bus. For current video cards, even the existing PCIe 4.0 is sufficient.
