It will not be possible to recharge it from external sources
The updated Porsche 911 will debut next year – family 992.2. The sports car will receive new engines and, for the first time, a hybrid power plant. Its characteristics are given by the resource Car And Driver.
The most important thing – The Porsche 911 hybrid will not be plug-in. This was done, probably due to the fact that due to the traction battery with a capacity of several tens of kW·h, the sports car would greatly gain weight. Therefore, the Porsche 911 will receive a traction battery with a capacity of only 2 kWh, which will be charged by both the internal combustion engine and the kinetic energy recovery system (KERS, as in Formula 1 cars). A compact electric motor will drive the front wheels. The weight of the entire hybrid superstructure will not exceed 25 kg.
3.0-liter gasoline engine with two turbines will develop 395 hp. Add to this the power of the electric motor (84 hp) and it turns out that the power of the hybrid will be 479 hp. Porsche is also working on a more powerful hybrid powertrain with 528 and even 800 hp. The latter will appear in the Porsche 911 GT2 RS in 2026.
