The ship carrying Russian cosmonaut Oleg Novitsky, Belarusian flight participant Marina Vasilevskaya and NASA astronaut Tracy Dyson was supposed to leave for the International Space Station (ISS) yesterday, March 21, but right before the launch the launch was automatically canceled.
The head of Roscosmos, Yuri Borisov, previously announced that the reason for the cancellation was a voltage drop in the chemical current source, and the next launch could take place on March 23. The State Commission actually decided to carry out the launch on the planned backup date — on Saturday, March 23, 2024. Ship «Soyuz MS-25» will reach the ISS using a two-day rendezvous scheme: docking is scheduled for March 25, at 18:10 Moscow time.
The return to Earth of Oleg Novitsky and Marina Vasilevskaya together with the American astronaut Loral O'Hara is scheduled for April 6 on the Soyuz MS-24 ship.
