It is built on the latest hybrid platform
The BYD Qin L DM-i will go on sale on May 29th and will cost in the range of 120,000–150,000 yuan (~$16,609–20,762 US dollars).
BYD Dynasty unveiled its new Qin L DM-i mid-size sedan at the 2024 Beijing International Auto Show. The new model has received an updated design both inside and out. It is equipped with the fifth generation DM-i hybrid. BYD Qin L DM-i is currently available for blind orders and will be launched on May 29th. Expected price range will be $16,600 to $20,800.
The new model will be available in five variants — 120KM Excellence, 120KM Beyond, 120KM Leading, 80KM Beyond and 80KM Leading. In addition, the car will be available in four different body colors: Run Yu White, Jianyao Purple, Ice Amber Green and Citrine Grey. The interior will be presented in two color options — Haoyue Rice and Xuanwu Grey.
BYD Qin L DM-i will bring significant breakthroughs in terms of fuel consumption and range. According to reports, the Qin L is based on BYD's new generation plug-in hybrid platform and is specially designed for plug-in hybrid vehicles. This fifth-generation DM-i hybrid system consumes just 2.9 liters of fuel per 100 kilometers. The range is expected to reach 2000 kilometers.
The hybrid system consists of a 1.5-liter engine and an electric motor. The engine capacity is 1498 ml, maximum power — 74 kW. The vehicle is equipped with a lithium iron phosphate battery.
BYD Qin L DM-i is equipped with a DiLink intelligent cockpit, 15.6-inch adaptive rotating screen, NFC digital key function. The Intelligent Driving Assistance System offers adaptive cruise control, emergency lane keep assist and blind spot monitoring, among other features.
