This aircraft used to fly with Pratt & Whitney PW1000G
At the Irkutsk Aviation Plant in the final assembly shop there are now two prototype MS-21 aircraft — fifth and sixth copies. And just the sixth (tail number 73057) will become the first MS-21, which will have both a domestic composite wing and domestic PD-14 engines.
Previously, since December 2021, this airliner flew with Pratt & Whitney PW1000G (PW1431G-JM), but they will soon be replaced by PD-14 engines, they have already arrived at the plant. Also, imported systems that require modification according to the documentation of the import-substituted version of the aircraft will be dismantled from the aircraft.
As for the fifth flight prototype of the MS-21, with tail number 73055, various domestically produced systems have already been installed on it, and their testing has begun. This airliner has been flying with Russian PD-14 engines since December 2020, but its wing is made of imported composites. This aircraft will also test the Russian auxiliary power unit developed by NPP «Aerosila»).
