The future belongs to Russian models
The reliability of the current Russian aircraft fleet has been confirmed by the Ministry of Transport of the Russian Federation. The press service of the department noted that joint efforts maintain a high level of operational reliability of both foreign and Russian civil aircraft. The Russian fleet is one of the youngest in the world among long-haul airliners and younger than the European average.
The Ministry of Transport also emphasized that the future of the Russian aviation market is connected with new domestically produced aircraft. There are no alternatives to this in the long term
Last week it was announced that serial deliveries of MS-21 passenger aircraft were postponed to 2025 –2026, as reported by the head of «Rostec» Sergey Chemezov. This is due to technical difficulties in implementing projects of this scale and the obligations of implementing a full-fledged testing program, the Ministry of Industry and Trade explained.
Nevertheless, the MS-21 aircraft has already received a certificate from the Federal Air Transport Agency, which allows it to transport the maximum number of passengers provided for by design. UAC head Yuri Slyusar also noted that the first flight of the SJ-100 with the domestic PD-8 engine is planned for early 2024, which is an important step in the development of the domestic aircraft industry.
The shift in supplies of imported MS-21 and SJ-100 aircraft was explained by the lack of compromises and thoughts about passenger safety. At the same time, the final appearance of the completely imported MS-21 has not yet been formed.
