Production of the new Skoda Kodiaq has begun: the plant produces 410 cars per day

Skoda announced the start of mass production of its new second-generation Kodiaq crossover. The car is assembled at the brand's plant in Kvasiny, Czech Republic, the previous place of production of the Skoda Superb sedan.

According to information from the company's press service, the volume of investment in the modernization of the production line and welding shop for the production of the new Skoda Kodiaq amounted to 49 million euros.

The removal of Skoda Superb production from the Kvasinsky plant was moved to the Volkswagen plant in Bratislava, which freed up production capacity at the Czech plant for the production of Skoda Karoq and Kodiaq crossovers. The site is capable of producing up to 410 Skoda Kodiaq per day, and annually the company will be able to produce 150 thousand Karoq and Kodiaq crossovers.

The premiere of the Skoda Kodiaq took place in Berlin on October 4 last year. The second generation of the crossover is significantly different from the original model, having increased dimensions, updated design, a more spacious interior and rich equipment. In addition, the Skoda Kodiaq is presented for the first time in a plug-in hybrid version — Kodiaq iV with 204 horsepower can run on «clean» electricity more than 100 km according to the WLTP cycle.

Today, through the joint efforts of Skoda production plants in the Czech Republic, Ukraine, China and – until the beginning of 2022 – More than 870,000 units of the first generation Kodiaq were produced in Russia. These vehicles have reached customers in 60 markets around the world. The model enjoys wide popularity among both customers and journalists, having received more than 40 prestigious international awards for the first generation of this large Skoda SUV.
