True, in the future, apparently, it will be repainted
As Vzlyot reports, the Tu-204-100B with registration number RA-64043 was painted last week in the workshop of Spektr-Avia JSC: the UAC branded livery was applied to the aircraft. Apparently, work to restore the airworthiness of this airliner is coming to an end: the aircraft, manufactured in 2008 and operated by Red Wing until October 2018, should soon return to regular flights of the same Red Wings.
This airline should receive another Tu-204 – Tu-204-100B-04 (RA-64050), produced in 2009 and flying until 2018. After the incident on August 22, 2018 (during the takeoff run along the runway, the left PS-90A engine surged and caught fire), it stood idle at Ufa airport for almost five years, but in the first half of 2023 it was prepared for flight to Ulyanovsk. The restoration of the airworthiness of both Tu-204s is being carried out by the UZGA-Engineering enterprise.
It is not entirely clear why the Tu-204 was painted in the UAC livery, because upon return to the Red Wings it will still have to be painted in the airline’s corporate colors.
