New automobiles still find their way to the Russian market through parallel import schemes. One of the latest and most expensive offers was the updated luxury SUV Mercedes-Benz GLS AMG, which appeared in one of the capital's major car dealerships at a price of about 37 million rubles.
Under the hood of the luxury crossover Mercedes-Benz GLS AMG there is a V8 petrol engine mated to a 9-speed automatic gearbox and all-wheel drive transmission. The restyled model differs from its predecessor by a new false radiator grille with four large horizontal slats and a modernized front bumper.
The main highlight of the richly equipped interior of the GLS AMG is the huge digital dashboard, which includes a virtual instrument panel and a large touchscreen display of the multimedia system. In addition, the new product received a high-tech function of a «transparent hood» and many modern electronic driver assistants that make it easier to drive an SUV.
Previously it was reported that domestic dealers began to refuse to import cars using the parallel import system, which «Izvestia» market participants said.
