Production will begin in 2025
The head of AvtoVAZ confirmed that the new Lada Iskra, which is already being welded and assembled in test mode, is 80% ready. The presentation of the new product will take place at the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum (SPIEF) in early June.
«The level of readiness can be estimated at 80%. That is, we see that the housings are assembled and welded. <…> And, of course, it is impressive and gratifying that in such a short time we managed to achieve sovereignty over this new global platform, including it in the list of basis for the development of the product line of our AvtoVAZ, — stated Maxim Sokolov.
Mass production will begin in early 2025, which Sokolov confirmed, but he added that for this AvtoVAZ will need to localize several dozen more components.
In addition, the total amount of investment in the Iskra family project was again confirmed, which amounts to 37 billion rubles.
If we talk about less pleasant things, Maxim Sokolov confirmed that in May AvtoVAZ will increase prices for its Lada cars.
