The production version is very similar to the prototype, even the screen built into the hood has been preserved
The serial battery hatchback Renault 5 E-Tech was declassified just a day before the premiere, and the pictures show both the exterior and the interior. The car is very similar to the prototype, and this is quite a bold step for Renault. For example, the display built into the hood has even been preserved — it displays the battery charge level in numbers (number 5 symbolizes the full charge of the traction battery).
However, the prototype still underwent some adaptation to the serial implementation: traditional handles appeared on the front doors, parking sensors were installed in the bumpers, and a wiper appeared on the rear window. For the prototype, all these elements are superfluous.
The interior is unusual and bright, matching the exterior. In front of the driver is a panel of two screens; the media system supports Google services. Multifunctional steering wheel with integrated Start button.
Renault 5 E-Tech is built on the new AmpR Small platform (previously called CMF-BEV) with a multi-link rear suspension. The length of the car is 3.92 meters. However, since this is an electric vehicle with a traction battery located in the base, it should not be cramped inside.
The capacity of the traction battery will be 40 or 52 kW·h, the latter will provide a range of up to 400 km. It is expected that the cost of the Renault 5 E-Tech will be 25 thousand euros.
