IGN's parent company Ziff Davis has recognized the IGN Writers Guild of 80 creative and editorial employees.
Two weeks after announcing the formation of the Content Creators Guild, IGN has successfully joined the union.
The employee-led group tweeted that it was voluntarily recognized by its parent company, Ziff Davis. Since early February, she has sought support from users, including creating a petition demanding recognition.
“We are still working on the final composition of our union, but we are very glad that IGN recognized us!”
Along with additional pay and improved benefits, union members hope to protect themselves from layoffs in media industries such as gaming and entertainment. They also want to “avoid future wrong turns and reorganizations.”
