The developers of Eiyuden Chronicles have promised a sequel if successful, to continue the legacy of the late creator

Yoshitaka Murayama created Suikoden in the 1990s at Konami and left the company after the 2002 release of Suikoden III for the PlayStation 2. He later founded Rabbit & Bear Studios, where he and Suikoden veterans created Eiyuden Chronicles, which raised over $3.1 million on Kickstarters in 2020.

Murayama passed away as a result of complications related to an ongoing illness in early February, having released the prologue of Eiyuden Chronicle: Rising in 2022, but did not live to see the release of the full version of Eiyuden Chronicle: Hundred Heroes.

Despite the death of the head of the studio and the author of the series, Rabbit & Bear confirmed that they plan to “move forward with the sequel” Eiyuden Chronicle: Hundred Heroes, which will be released on April 23, 2024,  confirming that they “hope to be able to continue Murayama's legacy.”

This may include potential spin-offs, for which there are “lots of ideas” but will only appear once Hundred Heroes sells out in large quantities.

In addition to the release of Eiyuden Chronicle: Hundred Heroes on April 23, HD remasters of the first two Suikoden are coming.
