Kadokawa said the Acquire studio will help improve its ability to create new intellectual property
Kadokawa has acquired Tokyo gaming studio Acquire. Kadokawa announced this as part of its latest financial report to investors, without disclosing the amount of the transaction.
Acquire was founded in 1994, and its team consists of 148 developers. The studio has worked on many games for various platforms, but it is most often remembered when it comes to Octopath Traveler, Tenchu, Way of the Samurai and Abiba.
Purchasing a new one studio, Kadokawa explained its desire to improve its ability to create new intellectual property.
Kadokawa also owns the notorious FromSoftware studio, which loves dark and complex games with dragons and swamps.
