Sometimes launching games doesn't go smoothly. The authors of Undead Inc tried to present remarkable ideas, but the execution was not very good
Recently, a project called Undead Inc. was released on PC on Steam and Epic Games Store. The description of the game may remind you of one famous transnational corporation from the world of Resident Evil – Umbrella.
Undead Inc is positioned as: “sa resource management simulator in which you take on the risky but profitable venture of creating and managing a local branch of the Endswell medical corporation… To keep the owners of the corporation happy, profits must constantly grow. You can’t earn much in a legal business—if you want to succeed, you’ll have to go beyond the capabilities of science and medicine. Forget about ethics and engage in illegal research into bacteria and viruses, with which you can create advanced medicines and biological weapons“.
Undead Inc received on Steam mostly negative reviews. Players note that the tutorial doesn’t really explain anything and overall the game “almost doesn’t work.” It has been suggested that this game is “Early Access without the 'Early Access' tag”.
The developers began to quickly solve some problems. For example, players complained about very aggressive behavior of the police – they could start shooting employees without warning:
“We released a day one patch on Steam and the Epic Games Store, which fixes the problem with police aggression, which affected a large number of players. We're sorry that this bug may have made the game more difficult than intended at launch, but we're happy to report that it's now been fixed.”
