According to a recent report from Newzoo, Bethesda Game Studios' Starfield was the only single-player game of last year and the only new brand to crack the top 10 for average monthly active users.
The remaining games were either multiplayer or service games, making the new space RPG one of a kind. Fortnite took first place among them, followed by the usual industry dominants.
The rest of the places were taken by multiplayer games: GTA 5, Counter-Strike 2, Roblox, Minecraft and others. Starfield was an exception. Even other single-player hits from last year like Marvel's Spider-Man 2 and Baldur's Gate 3 are nowhere to be found in the PC, PlayStation, and Xbox ecosystems. On the other hand, the Switch has several exclusive single-player games in the top 10.
