In the body of a Shooting brake
The joint venture of BYD and Mercedes-Benz, Denza, presented the Denza Z9 GT in the Shooting brake body in Europe. This car is designed to compete with the Porsche Panamera.
Denza Z9 GT makes its public debut at the Beijing Auto Show on April 25th. The start of its sales on the domestic market is scheduled for this year. The Z9 GT will also be released in Europe later.
Denza was founded in 2010 as a 50/50 joint venture between BYD and Mercedes-Benz. In this joint venture, BYD was responsible for the technical part, and Mercedes-Benz was in charge of design. However, the Denza did not sell very well and in 2021 Mercedes-Benz reduced its share from 50% to 10%. After Mercedes-Benz almost pulled out of the joint venture, BYD relaunched the Denza model line. Currently it includes the D9 minivan, as well as the N7 and N8 crossovers.
Denza shared photos on social networks. In recent photographs, the car retains camouflage. At the same time, the car is posing next to the Porsche Panamera and Ferrari GTC4Lusso. The Z9 GT is similar in size to the Panamera, which boasts respectable dimensions of 5049 x 1937 x 1427 mm with a wheelbase of 2950 mm.
There is no information about the power plant of the Denza Z9 GT, but it is known that we are talking about a hybrid. Denza CEO Zhao Changjiang said the Z9 GT passed the 90 km/h moose test. He also emphasized that the Z9 GT is ahead of the Panamera and S-Class in interior space, comfort and acceleration.
Moreover, the Z9 GT will be available as a sedan.
