Launch scheduled for December 16
Today, December 13, 2023, the space rocket «Soyuz-2.1b» with the hydrometeorological satellite «Arktika-M» No. 2 was transported to the launch complex of the 31st site of the Baikonur Cosmodrome. The press service of Roscosmos spoke about this.
After installing the rocket in a vertical position at the launch complex, specialists continued preparing it for launch.
Launch of the launch vehicle «Soyuz-2.1b» with accelerating block «Fregat» and the spacecraft «Arktika-M» No. 2 is scheduled for December 16 at 12:17:48 Moscow time.
As noted in Roscosmos, the new «Arctic» will monitor the hydrometeorological situation in the Arctic region and adjacent territories, monitor the heliogeophysical situation, and relay signals from the KoSPAS-SARSAT satellite search and rescue system.
