Company President Takashi Kiryu published a New Year's letter in which he spoke about Square Enix's goals for 2024.
Pointing out the importance of artificial intelligence, he said:
“We intend to actively apply AI and other advanced technologies.”
The President noted new technologies such as ChatGPT that have helped advance the idea of generative AI. He noted that the technology can be used to create images, videos and music in the creation of video games.
In addition, President Takashi Kiryu confirmed that the focus will remain on blockchain and Web 3.0. But whether this will be reflected in future games remains to be seen.
2024 should be a big year for Square Enix. Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth is one of the biggest games of 2024, and its release is just months away.
