The crossover requires anti-corrosion treatment, because there is bare metal under the soundproofing panels on the bottom
Geely announced a completely new Atlas for Russia on Tuesday, and today the first video review of the crossover from the experts at “Behind the Wheel” appeared. There were a lot of interesting things in the car.
Kirill Mileshkin was impressed by the «cosmic» design of the new Atlas, and narrow headlights, as it turns out, shine well (this applies to both low beam and high beam).
Radiator grille – with large through slots, so that installing the mesh will not be superfluous. Another adaptation for Russian operating conditions would not be superfluous to make an anti-corrosion treatment of the bottom: the fact is that under the soundproofing plastic shields the visa – bare metal. In the Russian winter, dirt, snow and salt will accumulate there – and this will contribute to the development of corrosion.
Compared to the current Atlas Pro, the completely new Atlas has noticeably added: plus 126 mm in length and plus 107 mm in the wheelbase. Not surprisingly, the interior is spacious, especially in the rear seats. Vehicle weight – 1663 kg (this is the version with a 200-horsepower engine, a – robot and front-wheel drive – other options for Russia have not yet been announced), real ground clearance – 205 mm.
There are a number of solutions in the cabin that are surprising. For example, a complicated adjustment of the rear-view mirrors: using buttons on the left and right spokes of the steering wheel – and with an obligatory appeal to the big screen. The background lighting in the form of notches looks beautiful, but at night it is reflected in all the glass, which is annoying. The media system screen is large, but the logic of operation is not always obvious, and the space is used stupidly.
The sun visor is interestingly designed – it is half translucent, like in old Soviet buses.
The new Atlas is good on the move; the reviewer compared the suspension performance to that of the Volkswagen Tiguan. We have already talked in detail about the crossover configurations.
