Currently, cars under the XCite brand are produced at the car plant in St. Petersburg. The first X-Cross 7 model has already started arriving at dealers
«The St. Petersburg Automobile Plant, formerly known as the Nissan plant, is placing 317 of its employees on idle mode, as reported by TASS. It was expected that 25 thousand crossovers would roll off the plant's assembly line in 2024, but now it is unclear how it will all end.
«The St. Petersburg Automobile Plant notified the employment service about the idle time of 317 workers (this is less than a third of the enterprise’s staff) until May 31, 2024», the press service of the Employment Center reported in response to TASS request.
The car plant in St. Petersburg is now producing cars under the XCite brand, which have already begun to arrive at dealers. The first model was the X-Cross 7, which is a copy of the Chery Tiggo 7 Pro.
The car will receive a 1.5-liter 147-horsepower gasoline turbo engine paired with a CVT in the basic version. The crossover will only have front-wheel drive. The dimensions of the car will be 4500 x 1842 x 1705 mm, wheelbase — 2670 mm.
Sales will begin on May 27.
