Last Epoch has finally reached release. Popularity soared, which led to problems with the server component
Recently, the full version of the competing game Diablo 4 was released. Even at the early access stage, Last Epoch attracted a lot of attention.
However, the release of Last Epoch 1.0 became an even more high-profile event: peak online on Steam has almost reached 167 thousand players, Diablo 4 has only 9 thousand recent online players (part of the audience on PC may be on Battle.net, where the game was released early).
The popularity of Last Epoch 1.0 led to the collapse of the project's servers. The developers decided to prepare compensation; the gift “The Autumnal Wrap” should be automatically given to all current owners of the game.
Last Epoch is now not only experiencing a surge in activity on Steam, but also a flood of negative reviews – this is largely due to problems with the servers.
Last Epoch has an offline game mode; it can be enabled through the game properties on Steam using the following path: [General] -> [Startup options] -> [Play Full Offline] (you need to click on “Ask when starting the game”).
However, there is a nuance that was noted by the author of one of the reviews: “The game is normal, but the company’s policy is not. It’s brilliant that I can’t use the cosmetics I bought offline yes?»
