The identification device weighs no more than 150 grams
The Ruselectronics holding, part of the Rostec state corporation, presented at the Electronics of Russia exhibition a new small-sized transponder for identifying drones. The product operates on the “friend or foe” principle and automatically marks friendly drones at an altitude of up to 5 km and a distance of up to 100 km from the radio interrogator.
The equipment works with stations using the Russian “Password” identification system. Such devices are used, for example, in aviation to distinguish their equipment from that of the enemy.
As noted in the press service, the identification device weighs no more than 150 grams and operates at 100 mV. This allows the product to be integrated into a wide range of civil and special purpose drones.
The radar identification device was developed by NPP Pulsar, part of Ruselectronics. General Director of NPP Pulsar Sergei Borovoy said:
Today, drones are actively used on the battlefield, where they act as fire spotters, as well as surveillance and fire weapons. At the same time, the same models are often used by both sides of the conflict, which makes their visual identification difficult. The use of such identifiers will allow you to distinguish your drones from enemy ones.
